Living with ADHD can be overwhelming, exhausting, and paralysing…
Our surroundings get out of control and the weight of the chaos makes it hard to know where to start. It’s never about laziness, lack of willpower, or being incapable. It is about how our brains are wired, and struggling in a world that wasn’t designed for us (let alone I’d argue, designed for most humans).
I know this because I’ve lived it. Diagnosed with ADHD at 40, I’d spent decades juggling overwhelm, scattered attention, and endless lost time. Everything was last minute, and when I did succeed it often came at great personal cost. I masked like a pro so appeared dynamic and capable…but underneath I was drowning. Finally, after one too many bouts of depression, I decided I had to start building strategies to cope, in fact to do more than cope - to flourish. Progress was slow, and often uphill. But the skills I learned and perfected over the years became my lifelines. I now share those skills with others.
So when it comes to your day to day, I know exactly what it feels like to be overwhelmed - whether it’s by endless piles of papers, a desk you can’t see let alone use, or feeling trapped in a cycle of mess that leaves you wondering where you’d ever begin. I’m here to tell you - you can begin. And it’s good to begin, together.
